Apple Pie

From the kitchen of Karen, Des Moines, Iowa
Prep Time:  Approx. 25 minutes
Ingredients
Filling:
1 t. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
5-6 T. flour

Crust:
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 block of lard, softened
dash salt
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. flour
Directions
Mix filling ingredients together and add slices from five large apples.
Mix first three crust ingredients together.

Mix Orange juice and 1/4 cup flour together to make a paste.

Mix the paste you've created with the flour mixture.

Mix until you can clean the sides of the bowl with the mix (add juice or flour if needed to get the right consistency.)

Halve the dough and roll out the bottom first. Place bottom crust in pie plate and pour in filling.

Add a few dabs of butter if you want to make it a bit more caramelized.

Add top crust and pinch sides together, poke top with fork.

Bake at 425 degrees F for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake until golden-brown and bubbly.

It's okay. It's missing some ground nutmeg and/or ground cinnamon; orange juice is totally wrong for this pie.
